Too often I find that my clients are severely under-eating and restricting calories… this used to be me too!
After recovering from my eating disorders, I would find myself obsessing about counting calories.
Thoughts of calories & food consumed me…
“How many calories are in this?”
“How much did I burn?” “
“I need to run more.. I’m going to gain so much weight from this.”
“This is going to make me so fat. I’m so gross. I suck.”
It is SUCH a mental game!
We’ve done it to ourselves. The media, fake nutrition “gurus” and bad advice has done this to us. It is not your fault, and you are not wrong for feeling this way! It’s a mind shift we need to make, and it can take time to change your ways. You need to change your relationship with food.
1200 calories is not a magic number. In fact, for most people, 1,200 calories is FAR too few calories for you to survive on. For most people who are active, you need to consume MORE calories to ensure you are getting enough nutrients, enough energy to fuel your body and that you have calories to lose weight.
Yes, I’m telling you to eat MORE to lose weight!
And if you’re obsessing about the numbers, STOP counting calories!
Quality of your calories can make a BIG difference!
