It’s officially summer-time and it’s time to create some great memories! You know what it’s not time for? A summer diet.
I’m tired of seeing mom’s avoiding a summer campfire because of their diet.
Or a mom not having ice cream with her kids when she really wants it.
Or not enjoying a cocktail at a cookout because because of the calories.
Worse- is when adults make comments about their diet choices in front of kids.
Let me ask you something.
If you stopped worrying about losing that 5-10 lbs… how would it make you feel? If worrying about your weight out of vanity was never on your radar… what would you do differently?
It’s kind of freeing to think about, isn’t it?
I’m a Dietitian, I want you to eat healthy, I want to to BE healthy.
Inflammation, blood sugar issues, gut health, vitamins, protein, stress… it’s all very serious. I’ll teach you about all of that. I’ll help you with that!
But…. I also know how detrimental it can be to our mental sanity to obsess, stress, worry about it. How much you are missing out on! It’s not time to start a summer diet.
Take this as a reminder to enjoy the good things this summer that you really want, and don’t let a diet, food, or fears about the scale hold you back. Deal?
